Public Health Specialist (Prevention Team Lead) – Embassy of the United States of America

The Embassy of the United States of America in Kigali is recruiting for the position of Public Health Specialist (Prevention Team Lead). The position is open to All Interested Candidates/All Sources and available to start immediately.




Duties: The incumbent is a key public health advisor on prevention, counseling, and testing activities to the Associate Director of Programs of the HIV/AIDS Program. S/he is responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating a broad range of agency-funded HIV prevention program activities and studies required to implement the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in Rwanda. The Job holder is the U.S. Government HIV/AIDS prevention and counseling and testing program public health advisor to the host country ministries (including the Ministries of Health and Education), partners, including those funded by the host government or the Global Fund and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the implementation of prevention and counseling and testing program activities and studies. The incumbent represents CDC Rwanda on HIV prevention and counseling and testing issues at technical, policy, and strategic planning meetings, including meetings with collaborators and donor agencies.
